Meet Our Nursing Staff.

Our nurses are not only caregivers, they are patient advocates and educators who bring knowledge, expertise and the highest degree of professionalism to their field.

iCare Award Jennifer Kump 

Jennifer Kump (UMI Nurse Manager) received the iCare Award for consistently upholding the iCare values within the UMI organization as part of the University of Rochester, Department of Imaging Sciences iCare effort.

Jennifer Kump, R.N., B.S.N., C.R.N.

As our Nurse Manager in charge of our nursing department and patient care, Jennifer has 16 years of experience in nursing. She  is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, a Certified BLS Trainer, and is a Member of the Association for Radiologic and Imaging Nursing. Jennifer is also UMI's OSHA Compliance officer, and sits on the Safety Commitee and Leadership Team to help improve the quality of care patients recieve while at UMI. Before joining UMI, Jennifer worked in Highland Hospital's step-down cardiac unit, as well as a number of medical imaging centers. She says she chose radiology because it allows her the opportunity "to make a difference in many peoples’ lives daily through compassion and education."

Jennifer Piazza, R.N., B.S.A.

"I try to make my patients feel comfortable and well informed about their procedure."

Before she went into nursing, Jennifer earned a degree in Medical Illustration. Today, she continues to see the big picture for her patients. A nurse for 16 years, she spent five years in the neonatal intensive care unit. Today at UMI, she specializes in IV Therapy and is a member of the Association for Radiologic and Imaging Nursing.

Sharon Messer, R.N.

“I really enjoy the patient contact and making the procedure a comfortable experience.”

Sharon has been a nurse for 3 decades. She has held certification in advanced life support and has worked in medical imaging most of her nursing career. She started on a medical/surgical floor at Highland Hospital. Sharon prides herself in getting her patients through a procedure safety while putting them at ease.

Ryan Brisco, R.N.

“Seeing how well the staff get along and work together with each other, that has been a blessing to witness.

Having 23 years of patient care experience Ryan started as a patient care technician in 1993. He received his LPN in 1998 and continued with school and received his RN in 2004.  Ryan has worked on the Maturnity floor and Med Surge Units at Strong and has 10 years experince in the Radilogy depart at the U of R specializing in MR/CT and Interventional Radiology.  Ryan came to UMI and worked per diem for almost a year before coming on board full time in November of 2015. 

Betty Carmody, R.N.

“The staff at UMI have showm me whats it's like to work as a team for the safety and benefit of the patient.”

Betty has 22 years’ experience as a nurse. She started as an LPN in 1993 and received her RN in 2009.  The majority of Betty’s experience has been in long term care. She is a certified BLS instructor and has had several different opportunities to advance her career. Betty has worked as Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, MDS Coordinator and also as an Infection Control/Staff Development and Employee Health nurse. After doing long term care for many years, an ad for a radiology nurse peaked her interest. While not having any experience with radiology she showed the desire and commitment to become a contributing member of the UMI team.

Cindy Glitzer, R.N.

“My goal is to show a higher level of care and compassion to my patients in a time of thier lives when they need it most.”  

Cindy has been a Registered Nurse for 5 years. Her career started out in Overland Park, Kansas where she worked at Children’s Mercy Hospital in the Pediatric Urgent Care/ER. Coming back to Rochester she took a position at Strong Memorial Hospital in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU and an Adult Med/Surg unit.  Cindy came to UMI in 2013 and is an active member of the Association for Radiologic and Imaging Nursing and is also a member of the OSHA safety committee at UMI.

Tiffany Marialke, R.N., B.S.N.

Tiffany has been in patient care since 1994, starting out as a patient care technician and receiving my Associates degree in Nursing in 2000. She worked at the University of Rochester Medical Center for the last 16.5 years and received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2002 at the University. Coming full time to University Medical Imaging in October 2016 after working in the Radiology department at Strong for 8 years. Tiffany has experience in Vascular, Plastic and Cardiac surgical post care. I have spent time in the Emergency Room, ENT and Orthopedic Units prior to the radiology department. She enjoys working with and helping patients through, what is sometimes, the most difficult parts of their lives.
